Effective Parenting: Parents, Kids and the Law

The laws have changed dramatically, and knowing the consequences for even minor mistakes or actions is essential. Knowledge IS power in making effective choices in life. This two-session workshop will cover: New laws kids should know, trends and your individual rights, why good kids make poor choices, bullying behavior issues at school, Internet problems, shoplifting, common arrest issues for kids, and prosecution of 14-year-olds as adults. Cheri Wood, IUSD Parent Education and Support Specialist, will review common problems and issues that can cause good children to get into trouble. Parents and their children 3rd grade or older may attend. Workbook of California laws for youth included in fee. Registration Fee: $35 per person/$45 per couple; kids attend free.
